Mordechai received his BA in liberal arts with a concentration in psychology from the Touro College School of Liberal Arts and Sciences in 1997. He then went on to the Touro College School of Health Sciences and graduated with a BS in Health Sciences and MS in Physical Therapy in 2001. After working in the intensive care units at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY he went into private practice. Since 2002 he has owned and managed Rehabilitation Associates which has become a center of excellence and is the facility of choice for many leading physicians. Mordechai is also a clinical instructor for a number of local physical therapy schools.
Moshe received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Touro College and then went on to earn his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Touro College School of Health Sciences. His interest in orthopedics and rehabilitation more generally stems from his background growing up playing sports. Additionally, Moshe enjoys utilizing his ability to encourage patients to push beyond what they think is possible and focus on what is critically important to their health, well-being and improvement. Moshe’s experience includes treating patients with a wide array of conditions, including orthopedic conditions, musculoskeletal disorders, joint replacements, back injuries, arthritic conditions, strokes and neurological conditions. Moshe splits his time between two of our facilities, treating patients in our Midwood and Boro Park locations.
Samuel, is an OT and CHT with 15 years’ of experience. He has experience working with both adults and children. His certifications speak for themselves. He brings much clinical experience as well as the specialized techniques of a certified hand therapist to our practice. He has been working at Downstate Medical Center with responsibilities in multiple areas, as well as doing work in an outpatient setting with a varied patient population.
Esther Fried, OTR/L, a graduate of SUNY/Downstate Medical Center, has been working in outpatient rehab centers for over 17 years. Her background in Lutheran Medical Center’s trauma unit and Coney Island Hospital’s Rehabilitation and Outpatient Departments, as well as her work in several outpatient facilities has helped her gain a well rounded approach to UE rehabilitation. She has worked closely with orthopedists and neurologists throughout the city. She has also worked as an OT supervisor in several assisted livings/nursing homes, and enjoys working with the geriatric population. Esther has been working in an outpatient setting in Williamsburg for over 15 years. Her devotion and warm connection to her patients and her patients’ reciprocity have made her well known in the community.
Lea has been an “in house” hand therapist at Dr Choueka’s practice at Maimonides Bone & Joint Center in Brooklyn. She worked primarily as a hand therapist. She has collaborated with hands surgeons regarding pre & post-op treatment as well as splint fabrication, post op bandaging, stitch removal as well as scar management techniques, among others. She has gained much experience in many different areas of occupational therapy practice, which she now brings to our practice.
Suri completed her pre-requisite work at Touro College and then went on to earn her Bachelor of Science and Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Touro College School of Health Sciences (NYC) in 2017. Suri’s clinical experience includes working with the adult orthopedic and neurological population, as well as pediatrics/adolescents with neurological diagnoses. She enjoys the process of figuring out the root of the problem and how to optimize function. Suri is always up for a good challenge, and loves to learn new things. She has taken numerous courses to further her skills, including orthopedic manual courses through NAIOMT. Additionally, Suri is currently pursuing her certification as a Multiple Sclerosis Certified Specialist.
Dr. Renee Zarif is a physical therapist with a Bachelors of Arts from Brooklyn College in New York, and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Touro College in New York City. Renee completed clinical rotations at Maimonides Medical Center, The Comprehensive Center in Manhattan for her pediatric rotation, and her final clinical rotation work for neurological based outpatient PT was completed at Aspire Center for Health and Wellness. Renee worked at Aspire Center treating patients with both neurological and orthopedic involvement from 2015-2018. In her previous rotation and work experience, Renee has a keen interest in treating patients with neurological conditions, as she has a vast training in treating patients with various neurological conditions including MS, PD, stroke, brain tumors, and SCI. Additionally, she works with patients presenting with balance deficits, working towards improving their overall balance control and stability. Renee brings creativity and passion to all her sessions, working alongside the patient to create innovative and individualized treatments to help them reach their goals.
Professionally, Renee has taken courses part of the NAIOMT curriculum, a rigorous post professional advance Orthopedic and Manual skills training to enhance her orthopedic manual care skills. Renee has also completed her certification for CKTP kinesio tape application, and has taken various neurological focused courses including PNF treatment techniques for lower and upper extremity function.
In addition to treating adults, Renee is a practicing pediatric PT, treating school age children for neurological and orthopedic conditions hindering their progression in the school based setting. Renee is also an assistant teacher in the Doctoral Program in Physical Therapy at Touro College-School of Health Sciences since 2015 in the Neuroscience Evaluation course.
Shenella Honeyghan received her Physical Therapist Assistant degree from Kingsborough Community College in 2018, and has since been mainly practicing in orthopedics, treating a variety of musculoskeletal disorders and neuromuscular re-education. At this time she mainly treats management of osteoarthritis , neck and back pain treatment and a variety of neuromuscular re-education such as Parkinson’s disease using an array of techniques. She continues to take educational courses and researches specifically LSVT Big rehab to further her career in neuromuscular rehabilitation.
